Michelangelo – Michelangelo Italian – was born on March 6, 1475 Caprese year, a small town near Florence. He was the son of Lodovico Buonarrotti and Francesca Miniato del Sera, he had an older brother, Leonard. Michelangelo from the early teenage years he wanted to become an artist. His father, however, did not want to accept. When the boy was 13 years old he managed to convince his father and joined the brothers Ghirlandio painting studio, where he was to spend three years. However, two broke a contract – workshop bored him, I have already learned everything he could, well ahead of their masters in the art of painting. He wanted to study sculpture. It soon became clear that Michelangelo has a huge talent sculptural, arousing jealousy among other artists.
After the death of Lorenzo the Magnificent in 1492., Michelangelo began work at the hospital the monastery of St. Spirit in Florence. Where he was dead, he helped in all the work carried out in the dissecting room. He recognized the work mechanism of the human body, muscles, internal organs, skeleton. This knowledge is evident in every detail arising after work.
In 1497. Michelangelo went to Rome, where he was to work for the Church, which was rich and could afford the expensive marble, in which the artist carved. The first order came from Cardinal Jean Bilheres de Lagrualas. Michelangelo carved tombstone for him – Pieta, which św.Marię holding on her lap after removal of the cross of Christ.
In 1501 years, Michelangelo returned to Florence, where to order the city authorities sculpted David – measuring 4 meters marble statue of the biblical hero. In 1505 Pope Julius II called him to Rome to the artist built his tomb with 40 statues. Julius II changed his plans, after the arrival of the artist to the Vatican, which greatly angered by Michelangelo. The Pope ordered the artist repaint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. Michelangelo initially resisted and protested, but in the end he could not refuse. It took him to paint murals for 4 years. It was an exhausting work at a height of 20 m above the ground. The frescoes depict the story of the creation of the world according to the Bible.
In 1536. Michelangelo was commissioned to paint scenes of the Last Judgment on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel. The painting is dark and gloomy, in contrast to the joyful and colorful arches.
